John M. Alford

John M. Alford grew up in Shelby County, Alabama. In 2007, he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2011, John earned his Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law.

In 2013, John began practicing law full time on his own. In March of 2014, John and long-time friend and fellow attorney John C. Barnes embarked on a partnership that has seen them move from their original office in Bessemer to their new location in Helena, Alabama.

John lives in Alabaster with his wife Elizabeth, and his two sons. When he’s not working, John enjoys spending his free time with his family, but likes to play an occasional round of golf.

John C. Barnes

Attorney John C. Barnes was raised in Hueytown, Alabama until he attended Auburn University where he achieved a Bachelor’s degree in English. After 4 successful years in the IT industry, John began taking classes at Birmingham School of Law in 2008. Upon graduating in Dec. 2011, he sat for the Alabama State Bar Exam in Feb. 2012. After receiving word that he had passed the bar, he opened his doors to the community as a solo practitioner.

In 2014, John C. Barnes and long-time friend John M. Alford decided they could better serve their communities by forming a partnership, thus Alford & Barnes, LLC was formed. Their first office was located in Bessemer, Alabama and in 2015, Alford & Barnes opened their own brick-and-mortar office in beautiful Helena, Alabama.

John and his wife Emily are residents of Helena and they are blessed with two beautiful daughters.
